WELCOME CLASS!
Welcome to the third grade! Third grade is a time for lots of growth and fun. In the third grade, students progress from practicing basic skills to mastering them, and they become more independent and mature learners.
After mastering literacy skills in the earlier grades, third-graders will expand their vocabulary by reading longer texts and many chapter books. They are now reading to learn. The main goal in math is to see that math is everywhere in everyday situations. Grasping the long-awaited concept of multiplication and division is the highlight of grade 3 math. In religion class, they will grow in their faith as they learn more about Jesus, the church, and what it means to be Catholic. Investigating rocks, soil, living things, matter, and energy will keep a third-grader busy in science. In social studies, a third-grader will increase their understanding of world communities both past and present, and learn about Australia.
A 3rd grader at St. Columban will become a reading maniac, a better writer, a stronger mathematician, an inquisitive scientist, and a deeper thinker. Let the learning begin!
